2024 Audi RS7 β interior, exterior and drive / Audi RS7 2024
The 2024 Audi RS7 is taking performance to a new level with its new Performance trim.
The engine has been improved with larger turbos and more boost, producing 621 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. This represents a 30 horsepower and 37 pound-feet-of-torque improvement over the standard RS7. Audi has eliminated some of the sound deadening to save weight, resulting in an 18-pound weight decrease. The RS7 also has new 22-inch wheels with Continental Sport Contact 7 tires.
Standard features on the RS7 include all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, and an adjustable air suspension. For a more aggressive look, the Black Optics package adds darkened exterior trim and large 22-inch rims with summer performance tires. The sport exhaust option enhances the V-8 engine’s sound.
A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine with 48-volt hybrid system, eight-speed automatic gearbox, and Quattro all-wheel drive provides power. The RS7 is slightly heavier than its predecessor due to the added technology but still delivers impressive performance. In testing, the RS7 accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds. The RS7 Performance variant with larger turbos and more boost offers even more power with 621 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.
The RS7 features an air suspension with adaptive settings for different levels of stiffness, providing a comfortable ride in all drive modes. The standard rear-wheel steering system enhances agility and handling. The standard brakes offer excellent stopping power, bringing the car to a halt from 70 mph in 151 feet.
While the RS7 shares its interior design and passenger space with the regular A7, it features exclusive details and optional upgrades. The cabin offers a high-quality build, upscale materials, and trim-specific logos and accents. The front sport seats come with leather upholstery, but upgraded leather and ventilated cushions are available. Depending on the layout, the back seat may accommodate two or three people, and the cargo compartment has 19 cubic feet of room (49 cubic feet with the rear seats folded).
The RS7 has a modern infotainment system with two touchscreens built into the top dashboard and center console. However, manipulating climate controls and other settings on the lower screen can be distracting. Audi’s voice recognition software helps mitigate this distraction. The RS7 has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot as standard equipment. With 19 speakers and 1,820 watts of power, the optional Bang & Olufsen stereo provides superb music quality.
The EPA rates the powerful RS7’s fuel economy at 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the interstate. The fuel economy of the RS7 Performance model has not been certified yet.
In terms of safety, the RS7 comes with standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic warning, and adaptive cruise control are available as options. The Driver Assistance package offers more advanced driver-assistance technologies. and there is a standalone option for night vision with animal and pedestrian detection.
