At the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Hyundai Mobis, the Korean automaker’s spare parts and autonomous driving division, displayed an eye-catching in-wheel module mounted on a prototype Ioniq 5.

The module, dubbed e-Corner, includes an electric motor, electric damper, brake by wire, and steer by wire, making it a complete package that can be fitted to a wide range of plug-in vehicles without taking up any space, making engineers’ lives easier. The concept was first shown in 2018, but it’s now been fitted in all four corners of a more recognizable Ioniq 5 EV, and the Korean company’s prototype is truly impressive.

Have you ever considered the possibility of future mobility in your daily life?
Everything you’ve imagined is becoming a reality sooner than you think. With seating arrangements and window displays, M. VISION HI is perfectly designed for entertainment and relaxation.

M. VISION TO is a fully self-driving vehicle concept that uses more advanced but doable technologies. The IPDS (Integrated Pillar Drive System) is the key feature that enables safer autonomous driving with greater freedom of movement by utilizing the e-Corner system and various cameras and lighting sensors.
