Lexus introduces the all-new, entirely redesigned 2024 GX, ushering in a new era. The first-generation GX arrived in North America in 2002 as a mid-luxury SUV force to be reckoned with. Lexus aficionados have hailed the company’s famed off-road aptitude and ability to navigate tough terrain, transporting clients comfortably from errands to distant locations.

The 2024 GX will be available in six trim levels: Premium, Premium+, Luxury, Luxury+, and two new to Lexus models, Overtrail and Overtrail+.

When compared to the previous-generation GX, the total width rises by 3.74 inches (overtrail by 4.52 inches). To assist reduce any road accident, the Premium Triple Beam LED headlights and grille opening have been increased. For improved visibility, LED fog and cornering lighting are offered. To increase clearance, the front overhang has been reduced by 0.78 inch. The seamless grille and headlight integration command a commanding front presence.

The 2024 GX has a robust, muscular presence from the side, with a horizontally flowing body and a 2.36-inch-longer wheelbase. In addition to the lower belt line and higher ground clearance, the A-pillar has been moved back for increased vision.

The all-new GX offers consumers the duality expected of a luxury SUV: a tough, competent appearance combined with elegant interior components that contribute to the creation of a road-trip sanctuary. The sleek and stylish cabin will assist drivers and passengers regardless of the duration of the journey.

With seating for up to seven people, the all-new GX has thoughtful touches at every step. Ergonomic measures such as seat cushion, seatback bolster, and headrest enhancements have been incorporated to help reduce load and improve driving posture. Front seat hip point to heel height has been increased by 1.18 inch.

The second row is available in two configurations: captain’s chairs or a split-folding bench with a 60:40 split. For easy access to the third row/luggage space, a one-motion tumble mechanism has been installed. The driver and front passenger seats are heated and ventilated as standard, with heated second-row seats optional.

The GA-F platform launched in the current-generation LX 600 is shared with the 2024 GX. This sturdy and lightweight ladder structure improves body stiffness and on-road handling, both of which are important aspects of the Lexus Driving Signature. To accomplish both off-road and on-road capabilities, a newly designed double-wishbone front suspension is combined with a multi-link rear suspension. Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) is offered and continually changes damping forces based on changing driving conditions. GX has Electronic Power Steering (EPS), which improves steering feel both on and off the road.

The GX has always been recognized for its off-road capabilities, and the 2024 GX is no exception. Torsen limited-slip center differential with locking function is used as standard Full-Time 4WD for constant response in varying terrain. Overtrail grades have a rear electronic locking differential. When accelerating through a turn, the Torsen differential distributes driving power appropriately based on the load on the rear left and right wheels, resulting in a high degree of controlled performance.

The all-new GX will be available with two engine options. GX will be available in the United States with a highly competent and economical twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine combined with a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission. The twin-turbo V6 generates 349 horsepower, which outperforms the previous generation V8’s 301 horsepower, while torque output increases to a whopping 479 lb.-ft. The dual turbochargers provide smooth and consistent acceleration, allowing you to effortlessly manage power delivery on and off the road. Towing capacity with the basic tow hitch has been raised to 8,000 lbs. for Premium, Premium+, and Overtrail grades.
